The FACTS you need to know Subject to your privacy and application settings: you grant [Facebook] a non- exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post on or in connection with Facebook Facebook owns and is allowed to use any information you put up on Facebook. [Facebook does their] best to keep Facebook safe, but we cannot guarantee it. Facebook cannot guarantee safety

When you visit Facebook you provide [them] with two types of information: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected by us and Web Site use information collected by us as you interact with our Web Site. –Facebookwill follow what sites you go to and they can tie it back to who you are. You post User Content on the Site at your own risk. Although we allow you to set privacy options that limit access to your pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot control the actions of other Users with whom you may choose to share your pages and information… –Even though you think something is private and no one can see it, Facebook cannot guarantee that someone else will not be able to see it.

Cons According to recent studies, it is confirmed that Facebook takes away from time spent studying and people who don’t have facebook have 1 grade higher GPAs People that you don’t know can find out information about you Once you upload something on facebook, it is their property 2 out of 70 check the Privacy Policies when they first join

Facebook Safety Tips Only friend people you know, you should never accept a friend request from someone you have not met. Do not put any personal information such as your phone number or address on Facebook Don’t friend rapists or convicted felons… especially registered sex offenders and/ or serial killers

Taking A Stand the benefits of facebook include the ability to contact someone you may have lost contact with. It also allows you to easily communicate with others. Although there are safety concerns if you take precautions you will be okay. Be careful on who you accept and what information you put on your profile. There are potential problems, but not to the extreme where you should not use facebook.
