Welcome! We hope this instructional guide will help you to improve your photography and knowledge about how to take a photo. Please enjoy! So, you probably know how to take a picture, but did you know there are actual tools of composition that you can follow? If not, that’s okay. We are here to help. We designed this instruction to give you pointers and background on a few key tools of composition to make your photos shine. Let’s get started! Click on the photo to start the learning process!

Table of Contents Purpose Walk the Scene Perspective Lines Montony Framing Rule of Thirds Balance and Symmetry Click on the links to go the Tool of Composition OR Navigate through the instruction using the forward and back arrow buttons.

PURPOSE Have purpose – It is important to have a goal in mind. Most of the time, the scene itself will inspire that goal but if you know why you are taking the picture and are consciously aware of that purpose, you will be able to focus on what needs to be done to achieve that purpose in the best way possible. In the end, not only will your photograph have meaning, it will be a piece of art or serve a purpose and not just be another picture.
