Test-Taking Tip 1: Have a Positive Attitude A positive attitude goes a long way toward success, not only in test taking but in life as well.

Test-Taking Tip 2: Make a Plan The week before the test, research what it will cover.

Test-Taking Tip 3: The Night Before Your body and brain need sleep to function well, so don’t stay up late!

Test-Taking Tip 4: The Morning of the Test Did you know you think better when you have a full stomach?

Test-Taking Tip 5: Test Time Before the test begins, make sure you’ll have everything you need. Read the instructions!

Test-Taking Tip 6: Manage Your Time Quickly scan through the test before starting, answering the easy questions first. This saves more time at the end for the harder ones.

Test-Taking Tip 7: I’m Stuck Those tricky problems can knock you off balance. You can always come back to them at the end to make the best educated guess possible.

Test-Taking Tip 8: Multiple Choice Questions A very useful tool in multiple-choice questions is process of elimination. Cross off answers you know can’t be right.

Test-Taking Tip 9: Neatness Counts Be sure your writing is legible. For scanned tests, stay within the oval.

Test-Taking Tip 10: I’m Done Spend the last minutes going over the hardest questions and rethinking your answers.
