Perspectives of RE Industry in ASEAN and Renewable Energy Asia 2012 Conference Jakarta, Indonesia 16 June 2012 The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE) and CHE Center for Energy Technology and Environment King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand

Scope  World Energy Situation  RE in ASEAN  RE Asia 2012

World Energy Situations Concerns on future energy security and climate change are two key drivers for the accelleration of EE and RE technologies Growth in RE deployment is strongest in energy sector. PV industry is the fastest growing among RE industries. China becomes the world’s leader in production of PV and wind. More countries set RE targets and support mechanisms.

RE in ASEAN

ASEAN targets to expand the use of renewable energy in the region’s power generation to 15% by 2015.

Opening Session Session I: Renewable Energy – Proving It’s Worth Here and Now Stream A: Solar Energy Options and its challenges Stream B: Smart Grids and Renewables (Wind/PV) Stream C: Green Energy and Building Environment Stream D: Biomass and Biogas, Waste to Energy "Renewable Energy Asia 2012: Proving It’s Worth Here and Now"

Thank you for your kind attention and See you at the RE Asia 2012 in Bangkok
