4/4/2014 SYED A RIZVI 2 OBJECTIVE OF THE WORKSHOP  How to define goals (program and course level)  What to do with the assessment results (continuous program improvement-closing the loop)  How to assess program goals (use of performance indicators and rubrics)  How to report results in a meaningful way TO LEARN HOW TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT AN ASSESSMENT PLAN Specifically, we’ll learn:  How to develop strategies to achieve those goals

4/4/2014 SYED A RIZVI 3 MSCHE STANDARD 14: RECOMMENDATIONS  CSI review and revise as appropriate its Assessment Plan, develop and implement general education and program- level assessment in all academic programs to achieve a consistent and comprehensive learning outcomes assessment program. Recommendations:  Generate useful student learning outcomes assessment data.  Employ those data in all academic programs to enhance student learning, improve academic programs, and inform institutional effectiveness, as well as shape institutional priorities and resource allocation.

4/4/2014 SYED A RIZVI 6 MSCHE EXPECTATIONS It’s all about saving the peer-review based accreditation (as opposed to regulatory accreditation). That’s why it’s also undertaking the most extensive revision of its standards in its entire history.

Accordingly, it has four key elements: Using the results of assessment for program improvement
