To us, the online world seems like a relatively “new” and optional way of interacting with others.

To our students it is normal, ordinary and expected

We need to face it, the world we knew is going away

The printed word has changed.

If we don’t change with the times we too will be out of business

What do we need to do to be and relevant and valuable educators/media specialists?

We need to embrace digital learning and integrate digital tools as we develop lessons using the new Common Core Standards /CommonCore/pdf/ImplementationTi meline.pdfhttp:// /CommonCore/pdf/ImplementationTi meline.pdf Add the app!

We need to embrace digital learning and integrate digital tools as we develop lessons using the new Common Core Standards Confident about the new standards Comfortable with the standards Somewhat anxious or not yet well informed about the standards.

We need to show our students how to safely network and share their thoughts. Kidblog.org

We need to make e-books a part of our libraries and encourage students to write, collaborate with each other, and share their stories.

We need to promote creativity, student innovation, and problem solving

We need to network with other innovative teachers in our own districts and beyond to learn and share new great ideas and strategies Resourceshttp://web20guru.wikispaces.com/Web+2. 0+Resources
