2 What is Pixton? Pixton is defined by iTeachU.edu as an online comics-generating tool with education-specific account options. Instructors can create assignments on Pixton, then populate the account with students. Students may then create comics within that Pixton account in response to the assignment Here is a list of features that Pixton contains: It is free for individual accounts It lets users create their own comics It lets you give text and speech bubbles to characters It lets you edit the shape and position of each comic panel It offers unlimited range of expressions It lets you upload your own photos and personalize them the way you want It provides presets, templates, and shapes.

3 The Pros & Cons of Pixton
Different way to teach and to learn. Can be done individually or as a group. Teacher is able to approve the comic before it is viewable to others. Different backgrounds, characters, and speech bubbles allow for expression of creativity. Students improve typing skills. All ages can use it. Whether it is the students creating their own project, or the teacher creating one and sharing it with the class. Intuitive design with plenty of options for sharing work and adding multimedia. Cons: Not every student has internet access all the time. All students may not have a laptop. Has the potential to be time consuming. No app available at this time. Limited potential for creating original artwork, and available art depicts mostly human characters Teachers can use it for any age group but primarily older students can use it on their own. (about ages 10 and up)

4 21st Century Teaching & Learning
The 21st Century Framework discusses technology and media being used to promote creativity and innovation. This is definitely an aspect that Pixton supports. This tool can be used to let students create their own comics using technology which allows for both creativity and innovation. Pixton can provide students with opportunities for collaborative class work and through this work communication skills would also be developed. Lastly Pixton aids teachers in helping them to promote digital citizenship by giving them full electronic participation in society.
