Asha Darshan Trust started: 1999 in Assam Activities - Non formal education schools - Self Help Groups - Care Program and Shanti Sena Funded by Asha since ’01 ~$37k total. Also funded by AID – $3.2k ~10 Assistant Organizer to help with schools & SHGs 3

Education Activities 4 11 schools children - 3 primary & 2 Middle schools - all schools have balwadis 2-5 teachers/school Medium: Assamese and Bodo Operated in former handicraft buildings

Self Help Groups Started in ’98, 362 groups ~15/group = ~ 6000 women Training & credit for weaving, tailoring, poultry, petty shops, etc. Spread health care awareness Micro financing from savings Bank accounts with book keeping 6

Health Care & Shanti Sena 8 Primary Health Care - 50 vols trained -Provides primary care, serious cases referred to Govt. hospital -28 camps in 25 villages to spread malaria awareness treated last year Mahila Shanti Sena members - Peace rallies and employment generation - funded by DoS and N.E council -Spread to neighboring states
