Personal management skills What skills employers want By: Sheila Moyers

Attend school daily/work daily and on time  Employers expect you to attend work daily and for you to be at work on time.

MEET SCHOOL/WORK DEADLINES  Employers want to be able to tell you that you have a certain amount of time to get the job done and the job done on time.

Know personal strengths and weaknesses  Employers expect you to know what you are good at and bad at that way they can find a suitable job for you.

Demonstrate self control  Employers expect the most of you to demonstrate self control.

Pay attention to details  If you want your Employers to see that you can pay attention to details always look for them.

Follow written instructions and directions  If you follow written instructions and directions you will have a better chance to keep you’re job.

Follow oral instructions and directions  You’re employers want you to be able to follow directions they speak to you also.

Work without supervision  Employers want to be able to trust you to be left alone, and you are able to still work while they are not there.

Learn new skills  Employers will hope that you will be able to learn a new skill while you are working there.

Identify and suggest new ways to get the job done  If you want to make you’re boss happy think up a new way to get the job done faster and then tell him or her.
