4 1) SELF EVALUATION To manage Professional and Personal life, it is important to know : Our Strength, our Weakness, our space for Improvement, our Measurement of success (S.W.I.M) IS IT IMPORTANT TO CONDUCT SELF EVALUATION ? What is a Strength? A strength is a capabilities your can perform better than other people, without major efforts. What is a Weakness? A weakness is a capabilities naturally you cannot do well, and you believe you cannot improve. WHAT I AM NATURALLY GOOD AT WHAT I WILL “NEVER” BE GOOD AT

5 What is a Area of Improvement? An area of improvement is a capabilities you cannot perform better than average, but you believe you can improve. What is a Measurement of Success? A measurement of success is the level you want to achieve in each area of improvement. WHAT I AM NOT GOOD AT, BUT COULD BE. HOW GOOD I WANT TO BE IN MY AREA OF IMPROVEMENT

To do a S.W.I.M test, helps you to evaluate/measure your capabilities at a given time. By knowing your level today, you can set goal to improve yourself in the future

COMMUNICATION SKILLS : Writing - Ability to write correct sentences - Ability to be clear - Ability to write in paragraph - Quality of handwriting - Ability to type on a computer - Ability to take notes - Ability to use appropriate vocabulary Speaking - Ability to Speak Clearly - Ability to manage you tone - Ability to Manage your speed - Ability to explain Listening - Ability to understand a 1 to 1 conversation - Ability to understand a group conversation - Ability to understand over the phone ORGANIZATION SKILLS: Plan - Ability to make a schedule - Ability to follow a schedule - Ability to organize your belonging (desk, room) Punctuality - Ability to be on time - Ability to meet deadline - Ability to be effective FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SKILLS: - Ability to monitor your spending - Ability to save money - Ability to prioritize spending

10 2) SETTING PROFESSIONAL GOAL To have a Professional Goal, allows you to manage your efforts and make better professional choices. Having goal is also a motivation factor, it gives us a reason to work. IS IT IMPORTANT TO SET PROFESSIONAL GOAL? DO I NEED PROFESSIONAL GOAL TO DO A GOOD JOB? You can work in a company without having a professional goal, but your work only benefit the company, not you. Knowing your goal, allows you to work for the good of the company and for your own good.

11 HOW TO SET PROFESSIONAL GOAL? There are two ways to set professional goal : DO I NEED SHORT TERM AND LONG TERM GOAL? It is easier to achieve long term goal if you set short term goal. The short term goal are steps you must do to reach your long term goal. BY TASK: Your goal is to be better in some of tasks. (Example: Creating exam paper) BY POSITION: Your goal is to reach a certain position. (Example: I want to become a Programme Director SHORT TERM GOAL LONG TERM GOAL

13 The only way to reach a destination is to know where you want to go. Employer like to recruit people of have a direction in their professional life, who want to go somewhere/become somebody. IS SETTING PROFESSIONAL GOAL EASY? No, many people need help to set long goal, short term goal, or to do a good S.W.I.M test. Experienced manager use the help of Life/Professional coach to help them. 14 IS IT RISKY TO SET PROFESSIONAL GOAL? It can be, if you are over ambitious in the goal you set, and not able to do a correct S.W.I.M To not succeed to achieve a goal can be demotivating, but if it happens, always ask yourself : “Did I set a goal to high?” “Did I make the correct professional choices to reach the goal” “Am I honest in my S.W.I.M test?” “Can I set a new goal, that I can succeed to achieve?” “Our Goals can only be reached through set of plans and steps we must deeply believe in, and never give up on.
