1 WELCOME TO OFFICE SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY DAILY FLEX ENTRY PROGRAM

2 Why Daily Flex Entry? Gain new skills quickly! Allows flexibility Allows time for recreation and family time Works with your changing job hours Permits flexibility to work around other scheduled classes Makes progressing at a faster pace available Allows students to start later in the semester or finish earlier in the semester

3 Who should enroll? Working students Busy students Non-traditional students Fast-track students Students interested in general, medical, and legal fields

4 Daily Flex Entry Lab Lab Hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Spring Creek Lab is also open on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

5 Attend class around your other classes or work schedule—You decide. You may complete class before the end of the semester. All work is due before Finals Week. When do you attend class?

6 How many hours should you attend class? A 3-credit hour course requires 64 hours to complete. 16-weeks requires 4 hours per week 12-weeks requires 5.5 hours per week 8-weeks requires 8 hours per week 6-weeks requires 10.5 hours per week Check with your instructor about 2- and 1-credit hour course requirements.

7 What about times when the DFE lab is not open? College Open Labs are available at hours when the DFE lab is not open. Check each campus lab for the schedule.

8 How many courses may you take? 12-credit hours or more (as many or as few as you need) Work on these courses concurrently OR Complete one course then enroll and start another.

10 Are any courses offered online? COURSES THAT ARE ONLY ONLINE: Business Correspondence and Communications

12 How do you get help? The Office Systems Technology instructors are available to help you in any Office Systems Technology class.

13 May you work at home? Yes, if you have the appropriate software. There will be times that students are required to be in class. Be sure to check with your instructor for details. Most Daily Flex Entry tests must be taken on campus.

14 Where is the best place to work—at home or on campus? You will receive individual instruction in the lab to help you understand any problem that you are having. You are also required by The State of Texas to complete a certain number of hours in the classroom if you are not registered for an online class.
