6 Course Description Programming Logic  Introduces programming logic, with an emphasis on problem definition, flow charts, tables, control breaks, and multi-record single processing programs. Topics include read-process-write loops, array creation and retrieval, and documentation standards.

7 Text Books Programming Logic  SIMPLE PROGRAM DESIGN (5 th edition)  Alice in Action (computing through animation)

8 Grading Programming Logic  There will be 10 assignments, 5 class activities/ Quizzes, 2 Exams and 1 Project/Presentation.  Assignment = 5 points x 10 = 50 points  Class Activity/Quiz = 2 points X 5 = 10 points  Exams = 15 points x 2 = 30 points  Final Project/Presentation = 10 points  Total = 100 points  Assignments should be submitted by DUE date.  No late submissions accepted.  Students should use Campus Cruiser to submit assignments

9 Grading Scale Programming Logic  90 – 100 = A  80 – 89 = B  70 – 79 = C  60 – 69 = D  59 – Below = F

10 Policies Programming Logic  Academic Dishonesty Policy:  Any one handing in someone else’s work as their work will receive a credit of ‘0’ points for the assignment. The supplier of the original work will also receive ‘0’ points for the assignment.  Attendance Policy:  Since this is a hybrid class, students are expected to check the class in Campus Cruiser daily. Attendance will be taken during each class & students are encouraged to attend every class. Even though there are no points for attendance, class activities/quizzes carry 2 points each.

11 Miscellaneous Programming Logic  Instructional Methods (Including Examination Policies):  I prefer to go with visual presentations & hands-on learning.  Cell Phone Etiquette:  Ideally, you would turn the phone off as you enter the classroom.
