weapons in Europe world war 1 and world war 2 By: Brent Hofstetter The Germans used many different weapons in World War 1 and World War 2. Such as pistols, assault rifles, light machine guns, sniper rifles, etc.

Luger To the right is a picture of a ‘luger’ Walther pistol model. This pistol was the main pistol caliber the Germans used in WW1 and 2. Being one of the first semi automatic pistol, the luger was designed to use a toggle-lock action which uses a jointed arm to lock. It weighs 871 grams which is 1.92 pounds that is one reason they liked it so much is because it was so lightweight.

Mauser Bolt Action Rifle This is a picture of a regular rifle that played roles in normal and sniper shooting. Its weight is more towards the heavier side. They call it an anti tank rifle because of its good accuracy

Machine guns Each machine gun takes 4-6 men to work and has the power of 100 guns. This is a picture of the machine gun it only has two people at it.

About the Germans The German army were the first army to use chlorine gas at the battle of Ypres in Chlorine gasoline is a gas that burns the throat and causes chest pains. Gas was actually the secret weapon of Germany. This is a picture of the Germans after they let off chlorine gas in the battle of Ypres in 1915 in WW1

The Zeppelin The zeppelin which is basically a blimp. Was used in the German army to bomb other countries. They also carried machine guns a bad thing about them is that they were really big so easy to shoot out of the sky. In WW1 Germany actually had the strongest army in Europe.

Grenades the Germans brought grenades into WW1 actually known as the stick grenade into the battlefield they work the same way they do today pull the pin and throw it. Both German and British grenades are very dangerous and powerful

Gewehr 98 The gewehr 98 is a bolt action sniper rifle that has a 5 round internal clip and was the service gun of Germany from
