Journals Everyone must have one! Journals stay in the classroom! All classroom work goes in the journal! Journals are 20% of your grade!

Timed Readings Count for 10% of your grade! Done everyday!

Silent Reading Everyday for fifteen minutes! You must bring your book to class everyday! Counts for 15% of your grade!

Essays Writing and reading go together! Each quarter you will write one essay! Essays count for 20% of your grade! Final essays will be typed! A written rough draft must be included! Essays will be a minimum of five paragraphs!

Book Reports One due each quarter! Books must be approved by teacher! Must be typed according to teacher format! Reports must be a minimum of five paragraphs long!
