Sudan’s capital is khartoum Khartoums population is 2,207,794 people It is the largest city in Sudan Khartoum doesn’t have many exotic animals, but it does have many farm animals like goats and horses to pull farm equipment.

Location Sudan’s relative location is it is surrounded by eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Dem. Rep. of Congo, Chad, Libya, and Egypt. It is located also on the northeast coast of Africa. Sudan also bordering the Red Sea.

Main Geographic Features The area of Sudan is 967,500 square miles. Sudan is the largest country in Africa and almost the size of the continental U.S. east of the Mississippi river. Sudan is mainly flat with some mountains in the east and west.

Climate The climate of Sudan is mostly desert and savanna in the north and the central regions and tropical in the south.

Ethnic Groups The people in the north are mostly Arab/Muslim and black African/Christian and Amist in the south. RELIGIOUS GROUPS Sunni Muslim 70%; indigenous beliefs 25%; Christian 5%

Most Used Language Arabic is the official language in Sudan. Other Languages; Nubian, Tu Bedawin, other Sudanic languages, and English.
