Preparación para el 8 de septiembre Answer the following question in a few sentences in English. What activities do you enjoy doing?

Repasar la tarea (Review homework) Turn in your calendars. If your class is chosen, turn in your warm ups for week 3.

Important I will ONLY be collecting your warm ups twice a month. However, you are still responsible for completing all warm ups and the homework section. For in class assignments or homework: I might ask you to turn it in and I’ll grade it. I might ask to see it while you are working on an activity and give you credit. (You wouldn’t turn it in.) Go over it as a class but it wouldn’t be added to Power School.

Flashcards (tarjetas) You’ll be making flashcards for the verbs on page 46 (To talk about activities). You’ll receive two sheets of white paper and fold them into 16 squares. Please bring them to every class because you’ll be using them.

Tarea (homework) 1. Study the verbs on your flashcards. 2. Bring THREE pictures of yourself doing activities you enjoy doing. You can also bring drawings, magazine photos or print photos from the internet of these activities.

Actividad en grupos 1. Make five groups of five and one group of four. 2. In your groups, share the pictures of the three activities you like to do. Tell your group members in Spanish. 3. Each student will choose ONE of their three activities for this assignment. Please try not to have the same activity more than once in the same group. Don’t share this with anyone outside of your group!

Actividad en grupos 4. Exchange your pictures within your group. Each student must have another person’s picture. 5. Each group will come up to the front of the class and say the sentence that belongs to the picture. For example, Me gusta cocinar. 6. Another group will come to the front and move around the pictures until the correct owner has it. The group has one minute to do so.

Infinitivos (Infinitives) It’s the most basic form of a verb. It’s a verb that is NOT conjugated because no one is doing the action. In English, the infinitives have the word “to” in front of them.

Holiday A special holiday is observed tomorrow in one of the Latin American countries. Are there any guesses? Yes, tomorrow is Mexico’s independence. All week we’ll be learning about this special holiday and it will culminate on Thursday with our first fiesta.

Holiday Groups will be responsible for completing a specific activity and doing research on ONE of the categories. 1. Map of Mexico 2. Mexican flag 3. El Grito de Dolores 4. Maracas 5. Mexican Folk Music
