New Bloomfield Boys’ Basketball

 Everyone should have a packet that includes: Summer Calendar Schedule New Bloomfield Team Camp Flyer Central Missouri University Team Camp Flyer Check-list/Breakdown of Prices Open Gym Summer Team Breakdown

 Camp held at New Bloomfield May 26 th -29 th  Camp Price - $35 dollars (any sibling after that is $25)  Purpose of Camp Work on individual skills Introduce Plays for summer games Introduce new drills Introduce new players/inter-squad scrimmages

 Open Gyms: Sunday 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Monday 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday 5:00 – 7:00 pm  Purpose of Open Gyms 1 st Hour – Individual Skill work (Post/Guards) 2 nd Hour – Team Development Closed Open Gyms – currently players only  (Of all the summer events this is by far the most important)

 Each Senior is in charge of group of 3 individuals. Listed below is how you will earn points for your team.  1) 100% attendance at open gym by your team counts as 2 points. (Team leaders it is your job to make sure they are in attendance)  2) During the second part of open gym we will play out 3 on 3 games. Each win during open gym will count as 1 point.  3) Each individual that shows up from your team at morning lifting counts as 1 point each.

 At the end of the summer we will have a tournament.  The seeding for the tournament is based on the total points earned over the summer.  Two Winners – (Missouri Tickets or Nike Gear) 1) Team that wins the tournament 2) Team that wins the total points for summer

 This year we will be providing an opportunity to use the weight room.  Each head coach will open it 3 times per week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7:00 am – 10:00 am

Team Breakdown:  Varsity – includes any player that has played varsity basketball the previous season.  Junior Varsity – Those individuals that played JV last year or any incoming freshmen.  Note – if needed players will be moved up based on need

 Date: June 1 Chamois June 10 New Bloomfield  Price: June 1 st is Free (Paid by NB Elite) June 10 th is Free  Teams Included: Varsity and JV  Amount of Games: 2 total each date

 Date: June 8 th  Price: Free  Teams Included: Varsity/JV  Amount of Games: 3 games total

 Date: June 19 th and 20 th  Price: Free (Paid for by NB Elite)  Teams Included: Varsity/JV  Amount of Games: 6 games total

 Date: June 24 th – 26 th  Price: $ Includes meals/staying over 2 nights  Teams Included: Varsity and J.V.  Amount of Games: 10 Games

 Purpose of Team Camp: Team Building  Team will stay 2 days overnight at the University of Central Missouri.  They will be feed by the University. Play a lot of games in a short amount of time. Play a variety of new teams. Time for coaches to instruct team during the summer.

 Travel to Camp Need volunteers to help drive players up to camp and drive home from camp. Leave time – The morning of June 24 th from the High School. Pick-up time – June 26 th this will vary based on game schedule. If interested – please sign-up on the sheet.

There are 3 pieces of information that I will need back if they go: 1) Camper Application 2) Screening Exam form 3) Release and Waiver form 4) Checks – made out to: Doug Karlestint Basketball Camp

 Date: June 29 th  Price: Free (Paid for by NB Elite)  Teams Included: Varsity  Amount of Games: 3 game tournament

 Once again this year we will be putting on our 3 on 3 basketball tournament.  Date: TBA  Ages: Male/Female – Middle School and up  All money earned is placed in the basketball fund to buy items for next season.  Volunteers to run clock/ref

 Reminder: Basketball Golf Tournament – please donate $5 towards this.  Reminder: Bring back your checklist/camp form ASAP (latest date to return – May 15 th )  Anyone that is will to drive to UCM Team Camp on June 24 th – please sign up.  Mouse Race Date – October 24 th

 Conflict of Schedules?  If we truly want to be good we must put the work and time in.  The most important event this summer are the open gyms.  Reminder: Any volunteers please sign-up to drive The quicker the players can turn in their check-list the better it helps me.
