3. Congratulations to the SHS Tribe of Pride Marching Band For their first place finish at the North Stafford Regional Competition. The band won best music, visual, auxiliary, percussion and general effect, as well as taking first place overall in Class 1A. The Tribe of Pride will be traveling to Spotsylvania High School this weekend for their second competition of the season.

6. Spirit Links is On! Donations for Spirit Links are being collected OCT 1 ST – 4 TH during all lunch shifts. This is a class competition that is part of Homecoming festivities. The more money donated to your class, the longer your spirit chain will be at the Homecoming Pep Rally. Proceeds from this activity will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

7. SHS Chess Team The first meeting of the SHS Chess Team will be Wednesday, OCT 2 nd in Ms. Haywood’s room W209. Be there to learn how to play or to challenge 2013 tournament winner Chris Allison! All are welcome!

14. Attention Freshmen! Friday, October 4, 2013 is Freshmen Tail Gait!! Come out to the patio behind the cafeteria from 5:00 to 6:30 for fun before the game! We will be playing games, music, and having a “paint up” station to get ready to cheer SHS on to Victory against North Stafford. Any Freshmen who attends the Tail Gait will get free admission to the football game on Friday, October 4 th.
