Science holds all the Truth Discuss this statement

This essay should be carefully planned, and go for about 5 paragraphs. Below I have outlined some key focus questions that you might want to respond to. These could form the basis of your essay. I have also written an introduction which you are free to use if you wish. Par 1 - Introduction Pars 2 & 3 What is Science? What sorts of things does science explain? How did humans explain these things before science? What doesn’t science explain? Why not? What is the Scientific Method? How does science differ from other forms of belief like mythology and religion? Are the conclusions science reaches always truthful? How can you tell?

Par 4Truth What is it? How can we tell truth from falsehood? Are there particular criteria or rules that we can use to work out whether something is true or false? How does Truth differ from personal opinion? Are there lots of different truths or only one Truth? Will we ever find out the entire Truth about reality? Why or why not? Par 5 - Conclusion So, does Science tell all the truth or are there other ways that a person can decide what’s true and what’s not?

Introduction Science is a recent human activity. For the vast majority of our human history we have relied on Myths, religions, songs, art and personal opinions to explain the nature of Reality. Philosophy used to incorporate much of what we now call Science - Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry and so on. This essay will investigate whether science as we know it, tells the whole truth and nothing but the truth about reality. If it doesn’t, then we need to ask ourselves whether it ever will and what else could.

Due Date: Words: (but this is flexible) Assessment Criteria demonstrated understanding of the topic Use of examples from science and philosophy Logically structured essay that answers the topic question Appropriate language for a philosophical essay Accurate expression with few spelling, grammatical or punctuation errors Well-presented.
