Presentation transcript:

help build a school in Eluaai, Kenya for the Masai people

The Masai people The Masai tribe is one of 42 in Kenya,Africa. The Masai are one of the most well known because while the other tribe strive for development, they stick with tradition. Instead of going to school the kids stay home with their mother. The men are top priority in Masai tradition. 

Simply getting to school in Eluaai is a problem because they have to walk 8 km at least. Some kids don’t even go to school they are at least 10 or 11 this happens because parents don’t have enough money to provide for school. Boys are always given first priority such as getting books or uniforms before the girls. Girls also have to do chores every morning before walking to school, such as cooking breakfast or taking care of the smaller siblings.

 The women in Eluaai are treated with second priority to men. Like having to do chores before going to school and also having to stay home while the men hunt.the women must take care of the children all day.

 Ed Colina Foundation is a priority this foundation supports three preschools and feeding programs in the Nairobi region. Two other preschools are now supported by themselves that once were supported by this foundation.  Our school in Eluaai will grant the students two new classrooms,a new latrine,a new cook shed and a chance for education.

 The classrooms in Eluaai are small and only occupied by people who have lots of money in Eluaai standards. Children usually do not go to pre school and usually do not attend high school.school bathrooms are in the thicket, meaning that they go to the bathroom in the woods.

 Education in Eluaai is important to the children that live there because it allows them to choose their future. Some schools are more 8 km away from a normal home in Eluaai and the kids must walk to school every day. This shows how determined kids are to get an education. Ed Colina needs your help to donate.

 Please donate to the Ed Colina Foundation to help the Eluaai people. You can also donate to our school in Eluaai.

Thank you
