Use these Elements of Art: Line – Marks made with a drawing instrument from one point to another. Shape – 2 dimensional outlines of an area. Form – 3 dimensional object which takes up space. Space – The area surrounding a shape or form.

Use these Principles of design Unity – A sense of oneness and harmony within an artwork. Variety – A diversity of visual elements within an artwork. Balance – visual equilibrium

Sketch the wall plaque Draw 3 different creative sketches for a wall plaque. Be sure to include each of the art elements and principles listed above. Your plaque may have any theme you choose. Choose the most successful, interesting sketch. Color it with colored pencils.

Build the plaque Roll out clay into a 4x6” slab about 1/2” thick. Use additive and subtractive methods. Be sure to include all elements and principles listed above in your design. It must have a hole or loop to hang it. Thoroughly clean, smooth, or texture the work. After the plaque is bisque fired, paint it using the color scheme you developed in your sketch.
