2 Relief Sculpture O A relief is a sculptured artwork where a carved form is raised from a plane. O Areas can be dug out of the form as well as clay added to the piece in order to create depth. O Reliefs are common throughout the world.- Ex: walls of monumental buildings. (Several panels or sections of relief together may represent a sequence of scenes).

5 Student Criteria O Famous Work of Art: 2-D Piece O Size: 14” x 14” O ½” thick slab – start O MUST dig into clay and add onto clay slab! O DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS!!!!!
