Planning for CfE Curricular Development  Retain 28 Periods per week  Additional teaching time to Maths (Numeracy) / English (Literacy)  Additional teaching time to HE to address Health & Wellbeing  Rationalisation of teaching time in Music/CDT/Art in line with other non-core subjects  Appointment of whole school CfE Coordinators in Numeracy, Literacy & HWB  Department Representatives to lead developments in Numeracy, Literacy & HWB  S2 Personalisation & Choice – additional period for enhancement in either Music, CDT or Art

Proposed Senior Phase Model Junior Phase Allows Broad General Education S1 – 3, Personalisation and choice and an enhanced S1-3 experience with academic rigour  S1 has 14 subjects (+Health and Well Being) offered at CfE levels 3/4  S2 has 14 subjects (+ 1 period of choice) offered at CfE levels 3/4  S3 has 8 subjects, by pupil choice, (3ppw), in a combination of CfE Level 3/4 with Nat 4/5 materials and coursework introduced as necessary Senior Phase Allows pupils to study up to 8 Nat 4/5/Access but with option of less and vocational alternatives  S4 continues with 8 subjects (3ppw) allowing time for enhancement within the NQ framework.  Some pupils will bypass Nat 5 exams and start on H at end S4  S5 allows up to 5 Higher /Nat 4,5/ access with vocational alternatives  S6 allows up to 5 AH/ H/Nat 4,5/ access with vocational alternatives
