Plot The plot is what happens during the beginning, middle, and end of a story.

Compare & Contrast Compare When you compare two things, you tell how they are alike. Contrast When you contrast two things, you tell how they are different.

allowance If you get money for doing chores or helping at home, you get an allowance. I get an allowance for washing the dishes.

rosy If something is rosy, it looks pink. The baby had rosy cheeks.

thrifty If you are thrifty, you are careful about spending money. A thrifty shopper always compares prices.

industrious If you are industrious, you are hard working. The star student is an industrious girl.

bargain If you didn’t pay too much to buy something good, you got a bargain. Piggly Wiggly had a bargain on their tomato sauce.

spoiled If you spoiled something, you damaged or ruined it. The peaches spoiled in the hot sun.

comfortable When you are comfortable, you feel good just as you are. We felt comfortable with our slippers on.

boost When you give someone a boost, you lift him or her up to reach something. The little girl needed a boost to reach the sink.

exchanged When you exchanged things, you give something to someone and you get something else in return. We exchanged the shirt for a larger size.

delivered If you deliver something, you take it from one place and bring it to another. The postman delivered the mail.
