My major is under the department of Curriculum and Instruction and is Multidisciplinary Studies: General, Non-Licensure. This is a very broad major and I chose it because it did cater to my future plans, but it also allowed me to chose from a variety of classes under each program section. I transferred here my junior year and had been previously limited in my options of undergraduate programs to reach my future goal, and I feel that this program suites me perfectly. I plan to further my education after graduating this summer with the MDSG degree. I will stay at Tennessee Tech and enter into a Master’s program in the Educational Psychology and School Counseling program. It is my desire to work with high school age students in small groups and one on one. I want to provide guidance as a form of teaching, instead of being a regular teacher and teach a subject. I work better with smaller groups and I love listening and guiding rather than leading in a structured classroom setting. I would like to guide high school students through their high school career and support them in their future aspirations, as well as help them through the day-to- day struggles of life. My love for children and the education program has sent me in this direction and I am very happy with my decision as well as excited to learn more and work towards being a guidance counselor in the future. Multidisciplinary Studies

Clubs and Organizations After hearing all of the students speak on the different clubs and organizations, I felt most drawn to the Tri- Beta Biology Honor Society. I felt that this club had the most diversity among it, incorporating more diverse activities as well as people. In addition I felt that since it is an Honor Society, you would have higher requirements upon entering, which I feel would make the participants more active. I felt like the organization was very well advertised through its presentation as well as the website. The Tri-Beta organization definitely appealed the most to me and I felt it suited my interests more than the others.
