Lesson Objectives  Describe MI Training Required  Describe How to Conduct Training  Describe Requirements for Maintaining Training Records

Discussion  Focuses On Maintenance/Crafts Personnel And Those Responsible For Conducting Inspections And Tests  Emphasizes Correct Performance Of Tasks Safely  Applies to All Responsible for Maintaining MI of Equipment  Employees Must be Trained before Assigned a Task  Periodic Refresher Training is Required  Training Must be Updated to Reflect Process and Equipment Changes  Training Records Must be Maintained for All Involved in MI Program

Training Should Address  Process Overview  Brief Description of Process  Process Hazards  Hazardous Materials Involved  Specific Areas Hazards May be Encountered  Location and Use of Safety Equipment and Mitigation Devices, e.g. showers, eye baths, etc.  Procedures  Maintenance Procedures for Complex or Safety Critical Equipment  Safe Work Practices  Activity Related; e.g. Welding, NDE, Instrument Calibration, Pipefitting, Grinding and Cutting
