AIM OF THE EVENT Raising awareness in Georgian Population about access of individuals with SEN to the third level education

OBJECTIVES OF THE EVENT Increasing awareness within the secondary and tertiary education representatives Increasing awareness of SEN people Increasing participation of Government Representatives Increasing awareness of Civil Society Note: The objectives presented above could not be accomplished only by one day activity. The activities planned cover the whole year (from Sep 2013 to June 2014).

ACTIVITIES RELATED TO OBJECTIVE 2 Sharing Own Success Stories Introductory Meetings of the SEN students with the pupils from different schools aiming to become the students. The main topics covered during the meeting will be the possibilities and rights of education. OBJECTIVE 2: INCREASING AWARENESS OF SEN PEOPLE ABOUT RIGHTS / POSSIBILITIES IN EDUCATION Date: Week prior June 14, 2014 Venue: Tbilisi and Regional universities The meetings will be conducted in: Akhaltsikhe State University Ilia State University GIPA Batumi State University

ACTIVITIES RELATED TO OBJECTIVE 2 Involvement in TV shows The whole event will be broadcasted on various TV channels. The special TV shows will be dedicated to the SEN students on the Batumi TV channel. Article publishing in various newspapers and magazines OBJECTIVE 2: INCREASING AWARENESS OF SEN PEOPLE ABOUT RIGHTS / POSSIBILITIES IN EDUCATION Date: Week prior June 14, 2014 Venue: Tbilisi and Regional TV channels TV channels covered: Rustavi 2 Imedi Maestro Info 9 Adjara Television Note: the same activities will be relevant to the objective 4.

ACTIVITIES RELATED TO OBJECTIVE 3 GOG 1 LEVEL - EDUCATION MINISTER The education minister will be invited to open the conference on June 14, PRESENTATIONS FOR THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES Presentation of the project and awareness day activities will be conducted in the regional universities. OBJECTIVE 3: INCREASING PARTICIPATION OF GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES Date: Week prior June 14, 2014 Venue: Batumi and Akhaltsikhe Regional Universities Invited parties on the regional meetings: Local Government representatives Resource center representatives Schools directors Kindergarten heads VET representatives 1. GoG = Government of Georgia

ACTIVITIES RELATED TO OBJECTIVE 3 WORKSHOP WITH THE GoG HR DEPARTMENT HEADS OBJECTIVE 4: INCREASING AWARENESS OF CIVIL SOCIETY Date: June 14, 2014 Venue: National Library Hall Note: Though the campaign aims at increasing awareness about the education possibilities/rights for SEN people, involvement of the future employers on the government level will be of the utmost important. One hour workshop will be dedicated to the employability of the Special Need Alumni in Government Sector. The workshop will include the simulations and role playing.

ACTIVITIES RELATED TO OBJECTIVE 4 PARTICIPATION ON THE ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION FAIR OBJECTIVE 3: INCREASING PARTICIPATION OF GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES Date: February 14-15, 2014 Working hours: 12:00-18:00 Venue: Exhibition hall, 118 Tsereteli avenue ABOUT THE FAIR: The annual international education fairs are conducted annually in the exhibition hall in Georgia. The ministry of Education or Tbilisi City hall officially support the fair. 79 universities, colleges, business schools and educational organizations from Georgia, UK, Turkey, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Poland, Russia, Hungary and Czech Republic participated in the event in 2013 year. Among the exhibitors were state and private institutions representing higher and professional education, as well as international and donor organizations that are focused on development and support of education sector. Exhibitors delivered presentations and visitors were able to receive the most relevant and updated information directly from representatives of the educational organizations. More info: OFFICIAL STATISTICS: Number of stands 54 Number of exhibitors 79 Local participants 41 Foreign participants 38 Total Number of Visitors More than 7,200 The flyers about the ASPIRE project and invitations on the National Awareness Day will be disseminated among the visitors. The flyers will be available on Ilia State university, GIPA, Batumi and Akhaltsikhe University Stands.

ACTIVITIES RELATED TO OBJECTIVE 4 PARTICIPATION ON THE ANNUAL ILIA UNIVERSITY SCIENCE PICNIC OBJECTIVE 3: INCREASING PARTICIPATION OF GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES Date: October, 2014 Duration: 1 whole day Venue: Vake Park, Tbilisi ABOUT THE SCIENCE PICNIC : Iliauni Science Picnic is the only open air event in Georgia which is held annually in order to popularize science. In the specially designed camps scientific groups present interesting experiments and interactive exhibitions. The main task of the picnic is to present in the enjoyable way the achievements of the modern science, especially in the natural sciences. Previus year 43 camps 43 different groups were presenting interesting sights from different spheres of science during several hours. STATISTICS: Number of camps 43 Number of groups 43 Special tent will be dedicated to the ASPIRE program and the role playing activities will be conducted during the whole day.

ACTIVITIES RELATED TO OBJECTIVE 4 Trainings for the regional libraries conducted by the National Library Representatives OBJECTIVE 3: INCREASING PARTICIPATION OF GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES Date: May, 2014 Venue: Libraries in the region Brief history: The national library of Georgia (located in Tbilisi) is accessible for the SEN people. The representative of the NL will deliver the training / workshop to the regional librarians and university librarians about the possibilities and rights of SEN people to use the library. Regions covered: Akhaltsikhe, Batumi Regions to be covered: Kakheti, Imereti, Samegrelo Sharing the flyers of the ASPIRE program within the libraries to increase the awareness about the project through the society.

NATIONAL AWARENESS DAY OUTDOOR ACTIVITY Accessible Contemporary Education Fair (ACEF) შეღწევადი თანამედროვე განათლების ფესტივალი Date and Time: June 14, :00 Venue: National Library yard Country Statistics banners indicating the statistical information about the inclusion in the education in various countries Photos – Modern Education Photos – visually impaired – reading the book… Photo Story Photo Story – Photo Stories of various Georgian SEN students Movie about accessible education Informational banners: Braille naming Small metal braille nametags will be sold out to the visitors Sign language naming Small sheets with the sign language nametags will be sold out to the visitors Rhymes about the education sold out to the visitors Fundraising campaign: The visitors will be able to buy the items indicated below and donate the money. The banners will be distributed in the yard and the visitors will have the possibility to het aware of the stories and statistics related to the accessible education. At the final stage, the visitors will watch the film.
