Before Surgery This is my 5 year old brother John. He has a congenital knee disorder, and he had to have surgery because it was becoming an issue.

Before Surgery This is another picture I took before his surgery & before he was put under the anesthesia. He his holding his monkey which he named Dr. Monkey because it was a gift from our cousins for him.

John Sullivan O’Donnell This picture was taken the day before his surgery at his Pre-Op appointment.

John’s leg John had his leg cut open from the bottom of his knee to his mid- thigh. He had to get stitches because the wound was so deep. They re arranged his tendons and ligament and they lengthened his quadriceps.

John Sullivan O’Donnell He had to lie across the back seat of our suburban and we surrounded him with pillows, blankets and stuffed animals that he loved so he didn’t fall on the ground during the car ride home. He played mine craft the ENTIRE way home from Oklahoma City to Texarkana.

John Sullivan O’Donnell John had to wear this cast for 2 straight weeks. Now he only has to wear it at night!

John Sullivan O’Donnell He has to use this walker every time he gets up to go somewhere. He is really energetic and on a good day, he even climbs his walker like “Curious George”.

John Sullivan O’Donnell He uses this wheel chair pretty much every where he goes when he is not walking around. I trip pretty much every time I push him around because he likes to put on the brakes.

John & his class This is John and his K-4 class at St. James Day School.

John Sullivan O‘Donnell John, was the surgery scary? “Yes, because my knee hurt. I was scared and so was my knee.” How did the surgery go? “Good. My knee doesn’t hurt anymore.” Are you happy you had the surgery? “Yes because my knee is fixed and I can run easier now.”
