2. Characters page 1 Gavin: Gavin is a nice kid who really likes Eager. He plays “live ball” at the learning center. He is the brother of Charlotte and Fleur. He is the son of Pete and Chloe. Charlotte: The little sister of Fleur and Gavin. Daughter of Pete and Chloe. Very curious and happy. Fleur: Doesn’t really like Grumps or Eager. “Friend” of Marcia. She is jealous of Marcia because she has a BDC4, which is one of the newest robots out. Sister of Gavin and Charlotte. Daughter of Pete and Chloe. Mr. Bell (a.k.a Pete): He is currently doing a project for LifeCorp, a big company that makes the best robots. He is building them a new factory. He likes Grumps and Eager both the same amount. It doesn’t say what Gavin looks like so I’m just guessing! :p)

3. Characters page 2 Mrs. Bell (aka Chloe): Works at a hotel. She is very fond of Grumps and ok with Eager. Grumps: Grumps is the robot butler for the Bell’s. His timer is not working properly so the Bell’s are planning to get him an assistant. Eager: Eager is a robot that is like a kid and learns from his mistakes. He is very curious, and he wants to know if he lives like a human being. He wants to know because Gavin said he wasn’t human, he was just a machine. Marcia: Marcia is a technobrat (technocrat). She is the “friend” of Fleur. She has a BDC4 that she is scared of. She also likes to treat Grumps badly.

4. Setting The story takes place at the end of the 21 st century. In the book it is winter then spring comes. I’m guessing they live in America but it doesn’t say. They live in the suburbs of some city. They live in the professional’s quarter of the city. Instead of city busses they have hover busses. They rarely use gasoline and cars. They use travel pods to get around the place. They have police robots roaming the streets. They have colorful robots that advertise, at night, for LifeCorp and other places.

5. Problem The problem in this book is that the BDC4’s are acting oddly and nobody knows why. They have been holding people hostage, marching in lines around town, and just hanging out and not doing their job. The cause of this problem is that LifeCorp has taken dead human brains and put them in the BDC4’s and they have been re-enacting the memories of these people. One of the brains they put in to a BDC4 was a sea captain for the navy so in the Bell’s town the BDC4 is trying to get the other BDC4’s to be his crew. There was no other good example of a BDC4. BDC4

6. Solution Gavin is worried about the BDC4’s but Fleur isn’t. They try to find out what it is all about so they send Eager to talk to them. But that doesn’t work it just gets Eager in trouble. Fleur is less worried when she hears that LifeCorp was shutting down their power. But that isn’t working because the BDC4’s are finding other power sources in the area. The solution that did work was when LifeCorp took all the BDC4’s back to the factories to fix them. Factory

7. Important parts After Eager tries to find out what is going on with the BDC4’s he accidentally goes into a man’s room and sees him in his bathtub and thinks he is drowning. So he was ‘grounded’ and he couldn’t go out of the house, so Gavin and Fleur are going to have to find out by themselves. After Eager gets ‘grounded’ the Bell’s go on a small trip in the woods. Eager comes with them on the trip. When they are in the woods the see a lorry (which I have no clue what it is but I’m assuming it is a type of car) going at full speed towards Eager. Eager dodges it and it nails Grumps and he gets run over. A day or two after the accident Eager runs away and gets trapped by marauders. Who he met earlier in the book. They took him to Professor Odgen who was Eager’s creator because that is where he wanted to go.
