The Book of Proverbs Chapter 8 Wisdom’s Benefits, Part 7

III. Second Exhortation: Choose wisdom above all else, 8: Reason: Wisdom is most valuable, 8: Reason: Wisdom has immediate benefits, 8: Reason: Wisdom’s origin, antiquity and work, 8:22-31.

Nine Benefits of Wisdom! 1. Dwell in Prudence and Discretion, Vs Hate Evil, Vs Counsel to make courageous decisions, Vs Rulership over your soul, Vs A loving relationship with the Lord, Vs Spiritual and Material Blessings, Vs. 18. 7. Divine Good Production, Vs. 19

7. Divine Good Production, Vs. 19 Fruit and Yield = Divine Good Production which is far better than the finest gold and silver of this world.

The evil person produces evil things, “bad fruit”, Prov 1:31, yet “wisdom” applied from your soul produces good fruit. Cf. Luke 6:43-45.

Principles of Divine Good Production

1. Three types of good.

2. “Good Fruit” = Divine Good Production = “Fruit of the Spirit”, Gal 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

3. “Christian service” can be fulfilled in your human energy or personality, or it can be produced through the filling of the Holy Spirit and the application of God’s Word.

4. Divine Good is produced by the Balance of Residency = the filling of the Holy Spirit plus maximum Bible doctrine in your soul ready for application.

Mat 7:17, “So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will know them by their fruits.”

5. The production of DG is related to the function of GAP. 2 Thes 2:16-17; 2 Tim 2:21; 3:16-17; Titus 2:7; Col 1:9 ‑ 10

2 Thes 2:16-17, “Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, 17 comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.” Cf. John 14:26; 16:7

2 Tim 3:16-17, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate equipped for every good work.”

Titus 2:7-8, “In all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, 8 sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.”

6. Producing Divine Good demands that you have right priorities = Divine viewpoint of life. John 12:24-25; 15:1-8; James 3:17-18

James 3:17-18, “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. 18 And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”

7. A sapling does not produce fruit, but a tree does. Therefore, there must be some spiritual growth before there can be the production of Divine Good. Mat 13:23; Mark 4:20; Luke 8:14.

Luke 8:14-15, “The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity. 15 But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.”

8. The production of Divine Good is related to Logistical Grace Blessings. Prov 8:17-18; 1 Cor 15:10; 2 Cor 9:8

2 Cor 9:8, “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.”

1 Cor 15:10, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

9. The production of Divine Good are the tactical victories of the Angelic Conflict. Rom 12:21, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil by the production of Divine Good.”

10. DGP is related to the “royal law”, (James 2:8), of the Royal Family Honor Code. John 15:16-17

11. DGP is related to the believer being placed in union with Jesus Christ. Rom 7:5; Eph 5:7

12. Discipline received and learned from produces Divine Good. Heb 12:11

13. Divine Good is the production of the Royal Priesthood Heb 13:15-16

14. The believer is designed to produce Divine Good. Eph 2:8-10; Rom 8:28-30

15. The production of Divine Good is related to the believer’s honor. Prov 8:18; 2 Tim 2:21

16. Our eternal blessings and rewards will be based on the Divine Good we produced here on earth. Prov 8:18, 21; John 4:36; 1 Cor 3:10-15; 2 Cor 5:10; Col 1:9-12

Grace Offering Prov 3:9-10, “Honor the LORD from your wealth and from the first of all your produce; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.”
