VES Playground Safety Tips

VES PATRIOTS ARE…  RESPECTFUL  RESPONSIBLE  SAFE  LEARNERS

General Rules  Move safely and under control. (Ex. watch for students, mud, ice).  Play away from the windows.  Play games that keep your hands and feet to yourself.  Snow and gravel stay on the ground.  Return balls and equipment.  When the bell rings, line up quickly and safely. WATCH OUT FOR OTHER STUDENTS!  Monkey bars are for climbing under and slides are for going down.  Take Turns and Share!

SWINGS  To be used to swing, not climb.  Sit in swings the safe way (on your bottom).  Swing forwards and backwards.  Walk at a safe distance around swings when in use.

GLIDER  1 student at a time  Line starts on the Patriot Side (side with Patriot emblem).  Face forward, go down and back, then switch turns.

CARGO NET TOWER  8-10 climbers maximum  Climb safely and hold on with two hands.  Be mindful of other climbers.

CLIMBING WALLS  Climbing directions are up, down and side-to-side.  Always have both hands and feet touching rock grips.

SPIDER WEB MONKEY BARS  Hold on with two hands  Climbing directions are up, down, side to side, and carefully over.

VERTICAL WEB TUNNEL  One person inside at a time.  One person on each side at a time.  Be mindful of other climbers.

SPRING HOPPER  4 students maximum  Hold on with two hands  One person per side

STANDING SEESAW  2 students maximum  Hold on with two hands  Make sure both students get off of the seesaw at the same time and when it is level.
