INDEPENDENT WORK 8th – 9/9 “The Diary of Anne Frank, Act I” (Scenes 3,4) Hyperbole is a form of figurative language in which one uses exaggeration to reinforce a point. Re-read lines 907-917. Find an example of hyperbole in these lines. Who says it? About whom does it refer? What does it reveal about that character? Playwrights often use dialogue to show contrasts in characters. Re-read lines 2040-2066. Contrast the ways Mr. Dussel and Mrs. Frank communicate with Anne. What does this dialogue reveal about both characters?
