Chain of Communication PTO President / Principal Patin Grade Level Director Grade Level Reps Lead Room Parent(s)

Grade Level Director’s Role  To keep current concerning school and grade level activities and needs.  To pass on information and notices to Grade Level Representatives.  To communicate parent needs and concerns to PTO president and board.  To provide support for parents and teachers.

Grade Level Representatives Are: A hub of communication for each grade level. A source of knowledge about PTO activities and programs. A source of support for room parents. Effective communicators.

Room Parents’ Role Room parents are leaders. Room parents model respectful and principled language and behavior. Room parents embody the PYP attitudes: Commitment Integrity Appreciation Respect Curiosity Tolerance Cooperation Independence Creativity Enthusiasm

Room Parents’ Role Room parents are the primary source of communication and community among class parents. Room parents’ participation allows teachers to focus on instruction. Room parents are responsible for effective communication which helps strengthen the Twain community.

Room Parents’ Role Room parents are the foundation for volunteerism in and out of the classroom. Delegate - do NOT feel that you must do everything on your own. Encourage and utilize the diverse talents and capabilities of the parents in your class.
