2. Room Rep Responsibilities
CONFIDENTIALITY is one of your most serious responsibilities as a Room Rep. It is an important obligation to protect each student’s right to privacy. Information or observations about individual children are to be kept confidential. If you observe or perceive a problem with any student, please only notify the student’s teacher or administration.

With the teacher, to know her needs

With the parents
All correspondence MUST be approved by the teacher
When making copies of letters, classroom materials, etc. use your teacher’s number
Class Directory
Send home a class directory form (a sample is included)
Permission must be obtained prior to release of information
For communication among classroom families ONLY

Teacher Gifts
Gifts are OPTIONAL
Some reps decide to do group gifts for the teacher 2-3 times a year
All students should sign the card regardless of participation
Teacher Appreciation Week: May 7-11
If you are unable to handle TA Week, please contact another classroom parent or the Room Rep Chair
Gifts do not have to be given every day
