7. Often has happy endings, based on the resolution or conflict of the problem

Plot Diagram Fairy tales should fit the pattern of a simple plot diagram. Generally it is easy to determine the rising actions, climax, and resolution.

Your Assignment Step 1: Read the fairy tale given to you by Mr. Hsiao in groups of 6 or less.

Step 2 Use the worksheet to create a plot diagram for your fairy tale.

5. Setting 6. Rising actions 7. Climax 8. Fall actions (if available) 9. Resolution 10. And don’t forget the title of the fairytale

Step 3 Create your own fairytale for Rowland High School students. Put the story in a plot diagram format. (Please note, you may use names of actual people, but it must be in a positive manner. If you make fun of someone who is not in your group and agrees to it, you will receive a 0 for the entire assignment.)

Step 4 W rite out the fairy tale in essay format. Your story should be words. Your essay should be printed using MLA format. Make sure each group member’s name is on the essay.

Step 5 Present your fairy tale to the class by acting out a skit, recording a skit, performing a puppet show, Power Point story board, or other option (must have prior approval from Ms. Wellmeyer) Please note: If you are using the computer, VHS, or DVD player, you must check that your media works before the day of your presentation. If your media does not work, you will get a 0 for the presentation grade.

During presentations… When other groups are presenting their fairytales, you will plot out each group’s story on a plot diagram. So, remember to make the climax and moral clear when writing your own fairytale. If the class cannot understand your moral, your group will lose points.
