An Equal Opportunity University eLII Objectives Advance the development of high quality, innovative programs and courses that utilize technology and eLearning through a competitive internal grant format. Invest in faculty teaching expertise and growth, building a program that includes technology tools that support teaching and eLearning.

An Equal Opportunity University How? Fund awards through University eLearning funds. Commit $1 million in the program during the fiscal year. Establish colleges and departments as stewards of proposals and selected initiatives.

An Equal Opportunity University Establish peer review process to select most competitive proposals. Provide consulting and student support where possible to ease development costs. Begin proposal review in September Provide resource website, including FAQs and proposal scoring rubrics.

An Equal Opportunity University eLII Funding: Programs Expect one program to be funded for up to $200,000 for a one-year period. Start-up or support funds for new or newly converted programs, or those launched but still in development. Online certificate, graduate, undergraduate programs eligible

An Equal Opportunity University eLII Funding: Programs Funding is highly competitive. Review committee will recommend a proposal to fund, but could opt to fund two at lower levels. –Make a Plan, A, B, and C Think about assessment and sustainability. Deadline: 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014

An Equal Opportunity University eLII Funding: Courses Multiple courses to be funded at $25,000-$35,000 for a one-year period. These are start-up or support funds for new or newly converted/created courses. Synchronous and asynchronous hybrid learning courses are eligible.

An Equal Opportunity University eLII Funding: Courses Applications from high-volume, required courses are encouraged. Think about assessment and sustainability. Deadline: 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014

An Equal Opportunity University eLII Funding: Faculty Skill Development Two tracks: Online Learning and Blended Learning Approximately 33 participants per track, funded at $4000 award per participant (or $6000 if admitted to both tracks). Full-time and part-time faculty instructors.

An Equal Opportunity University eLII Funding: Faculty Skill Development Applicants or recipients of eLII, UKAT, or DL course development grants, or experienced in online instruction now or in past 2 years. This round is Part II of the first cohort; the deadline for the second grant round’s cohort will be in March Deadline: 5 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014

An Equal Opportunity University Reminders Funding requires that the course or program be engaged in appropriate university approval processes. All proposals must be submitted by the Dean’s Office of the applicant college using the official cover sheet with Chair and Dean signatures.

Flipped classrooms with lecture component converted to an e-format, with a transformed accompanying in-class experience. Large lectures converted to an e-format and made available online for qualifying undergraduate students.
