Location Where are this region’s major cities, (top three by population) Chicago, Illinois; Indianapolis, Indiana; Columbus, Ohio. land forms and resources? Great Lakes, Mississippi River. buffalo chips, corn, wheat, sorghum and soybeans. Relative location to compass: east of the west region, west of northeast region, north of southwest region, south of Canada. Latitude and Longitude of largest city in region: 47 degrees north, 83 degrees west. *What could be some of the reasons people chose to live in this region or large city?: Because there are many things to do there, and nice places to live.

Place Customs, religions, ethnic groups in region: Celebrate Christmas, Easter, mostly Americans live here. Identify and locate- major resources: Water, corn, wheat major landforms: Great Lakes, Mississippi River. Describe climate and weather patterns: Cold and snowy in winter, warm and sunny in summer. *What effect does climate have on settlement patterns in the region? Not many people live here as other regions because it is cold for most of the year.

Human-Environmental Interaction Detailed description of economic issues: Record job loss, recession. How has climate affected the settlement of the region? Not many people live here as other regions because it is cold for most of the year. *How has pollution affected the lives of the people in the region? People want to live somewhere where there isn't a lot of pollution, so many people live here.

Movement Identify why people have chosen to live where they have in the region: Because there are many things to do in this region, and very nice schools in most places, and is sunny for most of the summer. Are there any interesting traditions or customs present in region?: People harvest their yearly crops if they live on a farm, celebrate holidays, go to church. *What might happen if one or more of the major transportation routes within the region were interrupted?: Everything would go into chaos, because there would be so many people waiting to take the bus or other public transportation.

Regions List and describe major tourist attractions: Willis Tower in Chicago, Mall of America, Indianapolis Speedway, Milwaukee Art Museum. Any OTHER unique characteristics in region?: Many, many farms in Midwest region. *What economic impact does the region have on the U.S. economy?: Supplies much of the U.S's crops and milk, other things.
