III. Faith-Resting in God is developed through different kinds of trust.

A. Compliant Trust. B. Confident Trust. C. Courageous Trust. D. Conquered, Conceding or Surrendered Trust. E. Cultivated or Learned Trust. F. Committed Trust. G. Compelling or Strong Trust. H. Convinced Trust.

The first speaks to the relatively small amount of trust in the Lord, due to Bible Doctrine that is packed into your soul.

The second is our mental attitude being in agreement with God. Rom 15:5; 1 Cor 1:10; Phil 2:2; 3:15; 1 Tim 6:3

Luke 17:6, “And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you”.”

Even a small amount of faith properly applied can achieve tremendous results. No obstacle should be able to stand before your compact faith in God.

Mat 17:20b, “For truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.”

Principles: Sin robs us of power, the power of Faith-Rest.

“Compact Faith” is belief in that what is commanded will be done, faith in the power with which you are endued.

Our “compact faith” is in the indwelling power resident in our souls, i.e., the mind of Jesus Christ, (God’s Word), and the Indwelling Holy Spirit.

Compact trust in GPS is so potent and powerful, that if we have some tiny as a mustard seed, we could move large obstacles in our spiritual walk.

Yet, if we doubt in GPS we will have no power at all.

Compact faith that starts out very small will grow very large over time as you continue to take in God’s Word. 2 Thes 1:3-4

2 Thes 1:3, “We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater.”

2 Thes 1:4, “Therefore, we ourselves speak proudly of you among the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure.”

Faith is not a deposit that sits within the heart and never changes; it is like the grain of mustard seed that looks small, but contains life and is able to grow.

It is painful and difficult to live through trials and tribulations but we must obey God’s Word by “compact” faith and believe Rom 8:28.

The life of faith is a life of action, of stepping out boldly on the basis of the promises of the gospel and God’s Word.

Jesus emphasized not the amount of faith, but the kind of faith we are to have; it is not quantity but quality.

Compact Faith is a personal relationship with God. It requires you to be totally submitted to God and a close follower of Jesus Christ. Mark 11:22-24

Grace Offering Prov 3:9-10, “Honor the LORD from your wealth and from the first of all your produce; So your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.”
