Goal One & Tasks Understand what life was like in the 1920s –Task: We will watch the segment on the 1920s from the series A Walk Through the 20 th Century Take notes with an eye toward: –What is happening to democracy in the 1920s? –What is happening to capitalism/laissez-faire in the 1920s? –How are the 1920s a response to the Progressive Era? –What effect the decade had on the shifting size and scope of the National Government?

You will visit 3 stations with 3 unique groups At each station you will use a source to evaluate the following questions (as many as appropriate given the station): –What is happening to democracy in the 1920s? –What is happening to capitalism/laissez-faire in the 1920s? –How are the above actions a response to the Progressive Era? You will then close by analyzing the pendulum image in light of the question: What is happening to the size and scope of the national government from the Gilded Age to the 1920s? –To answer the question you may write a thesis or mark up the pendulum to convey how your argument breaks down.
