Site Goal #1: Essential 11.6 Critical Question: How can we regularly include parents/guardians/families in workshops, meetings, and/or activities? Goal: We will offer three activities throughout the school year that will actively include parents in our program.

SITE GOAL #1 EVIDENCE A. Invitation for AVID parent night, agenda, “break- out sessions” sign-in sheets, pictures. B. Flyer advertising “Hungry for AVID” event, summary of event highlights from Vicki St. John (event organizer), minutes from January 20 site-team meeting discussing details of the event. C. showing funding for end-of-the-year AVID award ceremony, minutes from March 17 site-team meeting discussing details of the event, sheet for individual teacher selection of recipients.
Site Goal #2: Essential 9.7 Critical Question: How can we ensure that 100% of AVID seniors apply to at least one 4-year college/university? Goal: We want 100% of AVID seniors to apply to at least one 4-year college/university and at least 75% to be accepted into at least one 4-year college/university. Also, we want 100% of AVID seniors to compile an electronic portfolio of their college applications.
SITE GOAL #2 RESULTS: 92/92 or 100% of AVID seniors c/o 2011 applied to at least one 4-yr. college/university. (met goal) 64/92 or 70% of AVID seniors class of 2011 were accepted into at least one 4-year college/university. (did not meet goal by 5%) 100% of AVID seniors class of 2011 compiled an electronic portfolio of their college applications. (met goal)
SITE GOAL #2 EVIDENCE: A. Spreadsheet listing all seniors and colleges or universities to which applications were sent. (100% applied) B. Spreadsheet highlighting colleges or universities to which students were accepted. (70% accepted to a 4 year school) C. Samples of student electronic portfolio of college applications on CSU Mentor—part of Senior Curriculum. (100% have online portfolio).
