What Does the Band Do? Concerts Competitions Football Games Basketball Games Field Trips (Disney, Chicago, etc) Parades Brass Ensemble Jazz Band Solo and Ensemble

Good Brands of Instruments Woodwinds Flute - Armstrong, Emerson, Gemeinhart or Artley Clarinet - Selmer, Noblet & Vito Saxophone - Selmer, Yamaha or King Brass Trumpet - Bach, Conn, King or Yamaha Trombone - Conn, Benge, King, Yamaha or Bach Baritone - Conn, King, or Yamaha Percussion Musser, Ludwig, Yamaha & Pearl

Brands to Avoid Any Instrument that comes from a department store should be avoided. First Act - Wal-Mart brand that needs to be repaired with every little bump. Target Brand Instruments - Not enough knowledge about these instruments to make a conclusion. An Instrument should be purchased from a company that works with just instruments.

Financial Assistance Instrument Drive for Used Instruments For families that need financial assistance, the school may be able to rent the instrument to you at a low cost.

5th Grade Lessons Lessons will be given once a week Lessons will occur during specials times Your child will be put into a lesson with like instruments Lessons are 40 minutes long

What They Will Need on the 1st Day of Band Instrument (Which will be given to them in their lesson if rented.) Standard of Excellence Book 1 Pencil Any reeds, oil, cream, etc. that they may need to play A Smile

Concert Attire Boys – Black dress pants, solid black socks, white dress shirt or sweater. Ties are optional for gentlemen. Girls – Black dress pants or long black skirt (mid-calf length), black socks/hose, white dress shirt or sweater.
