 For the research and planning stage I used a range of different media technologies. The research started looking for locations we could use in our trailer, the Recce photos were taken on the college cameras and on our phones this allowed us all to look at each location to decide if it was suitable for our postmodern film. We also used Google images to find certain locations that were hard to get to but we just wanted to get an idea. A large part of the research planning was finding out about different films to influence our ideas, a lot of this was done through watching films and reaching on the internet using sites like IMDB, Wikipedia and YouTube to gather information and screen shot I could use in the research power points. These were also very helpful when were find out more about postmodern media, so we could get a good understanding a present it well through our products. When researching films for ideas YouTube was a big help because it would give you related results to what you were watching and this meant we were able to watch a range of similar trailers. The comments on these videos also gave us some feed back to what a general audience felt about the film. By doing this we could avoid the same mistake. The blogs were a big part of planning stages because we could post what we've done and this slowly presented an idea and brought all our idea together. After we had a strong idea as a grope it was time to start researching the other part that would make up a trailer. This was stuff like fonts sound and camera work. Two very useful websites were and these two sites provided copyright sounds and fonts which helped us choose a title and sound track.

 The production stage would exist if we didn’t use media technologies, throughout the whole of production we were using the canon- E05/ Canon EOS 600D dslr camera to record our footage. We also used close up lens and a lens baby and this was a big change from last year in which we used a much old camera that used film. Before we started filming we had a lesson to learn how to use the equipment. These cameras made filming fast, easy and fun, while having no problems. This equipment worked really well for the stylistic shot we had planned to film. For example the lenses provided very shallow depth of field which added a postmodern flare to the shots. Once we were done with each filming session we would just drag the footage into Adobe Premier pro and from there we started editing. We also have a lesson on learning the basics for Adobe Premier pro so we would all know roughly how to use the software. Out of all of use Munya and my self did the most editing but Munya took the trailer home to finish off and did a really good job at home. The editing stage took the longest but the final result was worth while. We came back to using Dafont and Incompetech to gather our chosen fonts for the titles and soundtrack. At this stage Adobe Photoshop was used to make the production sponsor logo. This then lead into the making of the two ancillary products on Photoshop. We used a range of different filming equipment when filming to help improve our shots like a boom mic, sound kit, steady cam rig and a tripod. All these thing helped our shots which made them easier to edit.

The Evaluation section of the course we got asked to answer 4 questions about the different areas of the project. There were a range of different ways to present your work for example power point, work, blog post and prezzie. I tended to stick to power point and work because I work best using them. These media technologies helped greatly in presenting my work in different for to the examiner. I found these different digital technologies created a good way of presenting your work and allowed you to add your own personal touch to the design for example in power point choosing your own template. They also provided a useful platform to work on, allowing you to add photos to back up your points and clearing explain your work. The blogs were a big part of the project because we used them to document our work and to share with the rest of the group. The blogs different from last year because we had group blogs which meant it was easy to lose track on what has been posted but I feel the new way makes it more personal but involves more work. In the evaluation stages I presented my questions on the blogs and on YouTube for the directors commentary. The blogs made it clear and easy to see the work I’d done but also kept the style of updating/blogging the recent work you’ve done. I found using the blogs hard when it came to editing because it would take to long at the end of each lesson to upload screen shots. You tube was also a major part of this project and is what we used to present our final trailer onto, as well at Vimeo and DVD. YouTube allowed us to post onto the Varndean media page and this could then get viewed by the public and has the option to ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’ and leave a comment. This feed back could the add to the evaluation of our products. Facebook was also used for the gathering feedback on the ancillary products. By posting our products on Facebook we got a real response from people in our target audience and this was a great help when we came to evaluating.
