GLOBAL CONTEXTS, FORMING A GOAL & EVIDENCE CHECK 1 9/4

OBJECTIVE SWBAT determine a global context and form their goal around the global context

GLOBAL CONTEXTS

WHAT ARE THE GLOBAL CONTEXTS? Identities and relationships Orientation in space and time Personal and cultural expression Scientific and technical innovation Globalization and sustainability Fairness and development

WHY ARE THE GLOBAL CONTEXTS SO IMPORTANT? Help to understand the independent and shared inquiry into our lives as humans and the relationship with the planet or globe. You must choose one global context to help shape your goal and focus of your project

WRITING A GOAL

WRITING A MEANINGFUL GOAL Write your goal with the end in mind – what will you present at the showcase to demonstrate what you have learned throughout the process? Goal must be shaped by the global context that you select Topic Global Context Goal

WRITING A MEANINGFUL GOAL Goal should be something that you are interested learning more about Goal should stay the same from this point forward! Topic Global Context Goal

WRITING A MEANINGFUL GOAL Goal needs to be highly challenging – this goal should not be something that you can currently do/achieve. Remember – the whole process is for learning something new! Highly challenging will look different for each individual! Topic Global Context Goal

EXAMPLE: TOPIC – PHOTOGRAPHY

ACTIVITY Look at the handout of the descriptions of the six global contexts. Use this as a guide. Your group will be assigned a topic. You will need to form three goals related to that topic as a group!

EVIDENCE CHECK 1 REQUIREMENTS

EVIDENCE CHECKS You must meet in person with your supervisor so that they can sign your sheet and discuss your goal and global context. It is your responsibility to set this meeting up with your supervisor. It should only take 5 minutes.

EVIDENCE CHECK ONE REQUIREMENTS Supervisor will be checking that you have all of the following in Managebac:  1 process journal entry  Global Context  Topic  Goal for Project Turn your signed form in to your ELO teacher by next Friday, September 11 th. The three ELO’s with the highest completion rates will get a donut party next week!
