 Aimed toward children and adults between the ages of 5 and 40  Draws a connection between the future goals of NASA’s space program and the average person  Young girl=public’s interest in space  Clips in Space Center make the link between NASA’s interest and the public’s  Created in Adobe Premiere editing software with clip manipulation in Adobe Photoshop  Clips brought in from the NASA media gallery  PSA is fast paced and visually appealing to interest the age group  “Do you ever dream of another world? NASA does”

 Next step in NASA’s space achievements  Designed to appeal to ages 15 and older  Message is one of inspiration and nostalgia  Sound element draws viewer in  Music is used to further the message  Used Adobe Premiere to construct PSA  Only still photos, no video footage  Overcame technical barriers of existing media

 It all began in September  Two teams planning to enter the contest; one had a website, the other several ideas for storyboards  Decided merger would be best!!!!

 In the meantime everybody was learning about NASA, Mars, the space missions and we watched almost every little thing out there that said Mars (and that includes candy bars).  Five initial storyboards, decided to focus on two  Group selected the two we felt were strongest and most unique  Received professional help from a film professor and a science professor

-We decided to solidify ourselves into a club. “THE NASA CROWD” -It is a club unlike any other -Ensures a Chapman team to compete every year. -Worked as an outreach to our community letting our professors and peers know about our accomplishments/future goals. -We just held an informational session recently.

Presenting: "Team Deimos" of Chapman's "NASA Crowd" will present the Public Service Announcements and Outreach Plan with which they will compete next week in the "NASA Means Business 2003" Competition, at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.  Design: targeting towards different audiences, wide range  Content: “not to recreate, but eliminate”, focusing on quality  Designed to educate and create awareness beyond classroom  Key Point: Interaction  Communicating more directly with the audience  Always changing

 Site intended to be a gateway to the best material on the web  Why the kids are our main focus  Searched the web and acquired fun and interactive games, projects, etc.  Intended to grab the attention of the site’s visitors by making the pages flashy

 For the educators section we decided to make available quality information that was already out there.  Includes lesson plans  Projects/ experiments  Games  Mars section (considered the most important) is divided into 5 section.  Why Mar?  About Mars?  History of Interest?  NASA becomes involved.  MARS MISSION 2003
