Instructions  There are 20 slides which list abilities and interests, such as “working with your hands” or “speaking in public.”  As you read the slide, decide whether this is something that you find VERY INTERESTING (1) RATHER INTERESTING (2) A LITTLE INTESTING (3) NOT VERY INTERESTING (4) NOT AT ALL INTERESTING (5)

Instructions  Find the number on the wall that corresponds to how you feel about that topic, and move to that location.  Reminder: 1 means you find something really interesting, five means you aren’t at all interested in it….

I am…. good with my hands. I like working with things I can touch and hold.

I like… problem solving! I like looking at a problem and figuring out ways to solve it. (solving math problems, figuring out how to fix a car that is making strange sounds…any sort of problem solving!)

I am… very competitive! I want or need to win, and I hate, hate, hate to lose.

I like to… work independently. I don’t like working in groups.

I like… pizza. It is God’s gift to all humans and should be respected and loved as such.

I like… performing! I love to be on stage acting, dancing or singing.

I like… working with the public, working with people of all sorts.

I like… a certain amount of stress—I work better when I have some stress in my life.

I like… working with machines.

I like… keeping good records, and keeping things really well organized.

I like… doing calculations and math.

I like… working with computers and all sorts of interesting technology.

I like… sushi. Healthy, tasty, what’s not to love?

I like… reading!

I like… writing!

I like… music! Music is a very important part of my life.

I like… speaking in front of people.

I like… advising and helping others.

I like… doing active work that requires movement and change.

I like… directing and helping people learn how to do things.

I like… doing indoor, seated work.

I like… spending as much time out of doors as possible.

I like… to help people.

Response:  On a lined piece of paper, please write a paragraph (five sentences minimum) on your strongest interests and abilities. Choose a couple of the interests from the slides, and tell me why you like it so much. What do you do that allows you to use this interest? Is there a career area that you are interested in, because of this ability of yours?
