Vision Eurocare’s vision is to work towards a Europe where alcohol related harm is no longer one of the leading risk factors for ill-health, early death, interpersonal violence and disability. A Europe where innocents no longer suffer from the drinking of others and where the EU and its MS recognise the harm done by alcohol and applies effective and comprehensive policies to tackle it. Eurocare is recognized as the leading independent and objective commentator to alcohol related dialogue and policy developments.
Mission statement The mission of Eurocare is to promote policies to prevent and reduce addictions and alcohol related harm, through advocacy in the EU and the WHO Euro. Our message, in regard to alcohol consumption is ”less is better”! Eurocare is unique in its role as the sole network specialising on alcohol policy working at European level.
Strategic objectives Eurocare will work with the EI and MS to recognise and challenge the harm caused by alcohol with the aim of: Reducing the total alcohol consumption in Europe by 20% by 2020 Minimum age for purchasing alcohol beverages is 18 years No marketing of alcoholic beverages, Blood alcohol level for driving is 0,2 in Europe and it is enforced.
