Three types of People People who make things happen People who watch things happen People who wonder…what happened

Four Human Tools 1.Self-Awareness 2.Conscience 3.Imagination 4.Willpower How will these tools help you be more proactive?

Proactive People are a different breed… Proactive People:  A A A Are not easily offended  T T T Take responsibility for their choices  T T T Think before they act  B B B Bounce back when something bad happens  A A A Always finds a way to make it happen  F F F Focus on things they can do something about, and don’t worry about things they can’t

Proactive Language  I’ll do it  I can do better than that  Let’s look at all our options  I choose to  There’s gotta be a way  I’m not going to let your bad mood rub off on me.

Reactive People… a common breed? Reactive People:  Are easily offended  Focuses on the negative  Blow off responsibilities  Blame others  React at the spur of the moment the moment  Get angry and say things they later regret  Get “beat down” when something bad happens

Reactive Language  I’ll try  That’s just the way I am  There’s nothing I can do  I have to??  I can’t  You ruined my day!
