›Why ›What – System/Architecture ›Who – CSU Governance Structure ›When – Timeline ›Who – CSUEB Project Team

“ In an environment of networked digital information, no academic library can be an island. The CSU libraries can take advantage of our existing relationships to increase effective collaboration.” -- John, today “ We can expect this trend toward large-scale systems to continue and to accelerate as libraries seek opportunities to operate more efficiently…and to leverage technology to strengthen strategic cooperative initiatives. ” Marshall Breeding, Library Systems Report 2014

1.AID DISCOVERY -- The platform will serve as a gateway to digital resources for CSU students, faculty and staff across disciplines. 2.UNITE RESOURCES -- The ULMS will provide “consortium capabilities,” allowing libraries to see what other campuses are buying and leverage that knowledge for better contracts. 3.EMPOWER ANALYTICS -- Libraries will easily be able to share and compare user data. 4.SIMPLIFY WORKFLOW -- Currently, staff must enter the same data into multiple systems. ›Reduce workload in order to redeploy staff to emerging priorities, through: –Eliminating redundant data entry by replacing our various stand-alone systems with a single system –Enhancing the ability and effectiveness of staff to perform their jobs through more efficient workflows and greater automation, particularly for e-books and patron-driven acquisition. –Shifting management of e-resources for the ECC and Opt-ins to the CO ›Bring the full suite of ERM functionality – including collection analysis tools, license management, and e-resource usage statistics – to all campuses, where today such capabilities only exist for half the campuses. ›Facilitate system-wide collection development through the sharing of collection data and usage statistics across all 23 campuses. ›Facilitate greater integration with local campus systems, external vendors, and other third-party applications. ›Reduce the overall cost of ownership.
