I have been married for almost 19 years and have 2 terrific sons. Jake is 17 and Josh is 13. Bachelor of Arts in Education from Ottawa University. Currently working on my Master’s Degree in Education from NAU. I am very excited to be teaching 4 th grade this year. I previously taught 3 rd grade here at Fulton, and 1 st grade at Jacobson Elementary. My favorite way to spend my free time is with my family. I love to watch my kids play sports, read a good book, and spend time at the beach. I also have three dogs Heidi, Boomer, and Lucy. I love teaching!

This year we will be participating in reading block. Students will be placed in a leveled group based on their reading level. 70 minutes of uninterrupted reading instruction daily Harcourt Reading Weekly stories and skills Comprehension Tests and Skills Assessments Literature Studies Reading Comprehension and Strategies Read 20 minutes per night as a part of homework ASSESSMENTS: DRA, Benchmarks and AIMS Testing.

Summarization Characterization Sequencing Literary Elements Genre Studies Main Idea Inferencing Predicting Outcomes Fact and Opinion Cause and Effect Author’s Purpose Vocabulary

Homework will be passed out at the end of the day and is due the following MORNING. Reading: Students should be reading nightly at least 20 minutes. It is the responsibility of the student to get their agenda signed nightly. Homework should take your child between minutes, plus reading time.

Letter grades will be given in math, reading, writing, and new this year…science and social studies. Graded work will come home each week in your child’s Friday Folder. Progress reports will go home half way through the quarter. If your child is not progressing as expected, I will contact you.
