Cumulus Leaders Workshop Training Wednesday 29 August 2007 Jon Patrick Student Director

Cumulus is a centrally based digital asset management system. It enables a large number of people to access, modify, and manage a group of digital assets (computer files) from a central location. Or, simply stated… Cumulus stores digital photos in a central location, allowing users to access and modify them while maintaining a single central library. What is it??

1). Organization Before Cumulus, the Collaboratory owned thousands of digital photos stored across several workstations. Photos were hard to find when needed. 2). Redundancy Before Cumulus, the Collaboratory’s multiple libraries of digital photos were at risk. A single workstation failure might wipe out years worth of digital photos. 3). Accessibility Before Cumulus, the Collaboratory’s digital photos were only accessible from designated workstations. Why do we use it??

Over 14,000 digital photos organized By Project By Group By People By Site Team Each with a (Best Photos) sub-category, containing marketable digital photos for quick lookup. Who we are….What we do….Who we partner with Multiple layers of redundancy, provided by Messiah College ITS. We will never lose a valued digital photo! Accessible through any workstation on campus via the software client. Accessible through any workstation in the WORLD via the web client. Today’s Cumulus
